Hackers preparing for big cyber attack under Covid-19, government issued warning
Cyber Attack: The central government warned of a massive Cyber Attack, saying that hackers can steal private information of citizens and companies by luring them like free Covid-19 probe. CERT-In, the nodal investigative agency for India's cyber security, said while advising that establishments could be targeted through phishing mails describing themselves as government agencies, departments or business institutions.
It was told in this advisory that such attacks can take place from Sunday 21 June. This cyber attack can lead to an attack from an email ncov2019.gov.in. The subject of this email can be Free Covid 19 Test. Such mails can be sent by attackers in the name of providing financial support from the government.
By clicking on such mail or link, the user is taken to a fake website, where information such as personal or bank account can be lost. This advisory stated that such cyber hackers may have the email IDs of 2 million people to whom they plan to send emails. It may contain the space of the subject - Covid-19 free screening for all citizens in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and Ahmedabad.
Giving information about the phishing attack, this advisory stated that this website looks like real and attracts people to open their mail or text messages. This website contains a link virus, which Malware gets into the user's system on clicking, or his system hangs and the necessary information reaches the hacker.
